This is one of the scenes that we did on the 1st day of rehearsal.  Momo was kind enough to stand in for the role of Dave (the character has since been renamed Paolo and hasn't been cast), Bett's cop brother.  In this scene, Paolo confronts Bett for withholding information about an on-going murder investigation.

reading for "house of trixxx"

i told you about the "house of trixxx" screenplay that i wrote a while back, right?  well i've decided to film some scenes from it.  i placed an ad on craigslist for actors and this is matt benson reading a short scene. he's reading for the part of shane - a drag queen noob from a religious family. in this scene he's being interrogated by the police, being a key witness to a murder. hopefully i can post a better scene video when we record it with proper setting and with the dialogue memorized.  this was our first meeting, at brooklyn's anchored inn, over fries.

hmmm.  lately these letters seem to be like a countdown of some sort, don't you think?  give me until first week of september and i promise i'll snap out of it. in the meantime here's some more depressing sad music.

hong kong's symphony of lights

i found an unused hong kong ferry token among my coins, probably from when jane visited, so i took the ferry to tsim sha tsui and watched the light show.  it was bleh.

eta: someone told me that this used to be much better, with a lot more buildings participating.  too bad i never saw that version.  still, i think it would've been much better had don dorsey done it.

this is a stillframe from one of the videos that i've been working on, taken last tuesday, in the dining room that i made up to look like an office space. it's supposed to be friday afternoon happy hour at work, of course - and anyway the beer i gave them is alcohol-free.

i managed to upload a few of them already, but they won't get inspected until after about a month.

i thought i'd try what sort of quality direct video upload in blogger.com gives, because i recently uploaded videos to youtube and the quality degenerated so bad (a 1080 vid shrunk to about a quarter of the size, so the uploaded version was crisp, but the resulting video from youtube's processing looked like it was taken by an old video phone), so i decided to remove them again. after checking youtube's Q&A forums it turns out that they introduced some new quality (or lack thereof) settings recently.

as you can see from above, it's not worth uploading videos here either.
